Ulrika's lighting products are made mainly from bone china clay and slip, she also uses various plastics creating similar translucent qualities.

Influences come largely from patterns in nature. The detailed work captures structural elements and richness of form. The work is as functional as it is artistic, as visual as it is tactile. Jarl creates domestic lighting, but also takes commissions for bespoke installations.

Ulrika’s work has already attracted attention in the design world – her Romanésco pendant light has been exhibited, with the help of the British Council, around the world, culminating at the Design Museum in 2005. Furniture retailer Habitat also took on this unusual and striking piece the following year. Fashion designer Alexander McQueen is another admirer and customer.
Designer and founder Ulrika Jarl said: “I aim to make high-quality products which are sustainable – they are not fashion items, but objects you would want to keep for a lifetime.”
