Design ideas with console tables
Today, console tables are seeing more use than just as a decorative piece. With more of them being designed for other uses than they have seen, it is no surprise to see them being used as desks, dressing tables, and even as media tables. A white console table done in a vintage style could certainly pass as a quality dressing table, while the same style in black could see double duty as an executive desk in a home office.
Console tables today are often designed in a non-traditional manner so far out there as to be considered modern works of art. An oak console table in the shape of an S holds glass shelves for artistic displays, while a mango or shabby chic console table finds a home in the kitchen displaying antique jugs and jars. A mirrored console table takes a place of honour at the end of an upstairs hallway, no doubt beneath an antique mirror, while the glass console table displays an variety of electronic media in the family room.
