Ship’s crew Russian dolls from Papa Stour

I love Russian dolls, in fact I’d go as far to say I’m obsessed with them. And it would seem I’m not the only one as lots of designers are taking inspiration from these stacking dolls for their collections.

However, this Ship’s Crew one from Papa Stour are some of the most innovative I’ve seen for a long time. Instead of the traditional Russian figurines in descending proportions, each doll is a member of a ship’s crew.

There’s the captain, first mate, cook, cabin boy, mechanic and ship’ dog with the smallest doll being a seagull, all nestled inside one another.

Mine will take pride of place alongside my classic set of Russian dolls but they’d also make a fab gift for a small child or as an accessory for a nursery or playroom.
