I’m desperate to replace my bedroom curtains and am determined to go for something different. Any ideas? |

We used shutters in our bedroom and the effect is really stunning. We got the tilted ones so you can allow as much light in as you want but still maintain your privacy. We got ours from a company (whose name escapes me at the moment but I will dig out the details and post later!) who allowed us to choose the colour from a range of bespoke shades and are really pleased with the results. |

I personally wouldn’t totally discount curtains as they can look fantastic when used in the right way. How about combining a plain pair with a gorgeous patterned blind from Marimekko? Plus on a practical note, having two window treatments helps stop the warmth escaping and keeps draughts at bay. |

I used really simple roller blinds in my bedroom. I opted for ones the same colour as the paint I used on the walls so they blend into the scheme. I got them made using blackout material, that way I won’t be woken up too early on summer mornings. |
