Boring dining table

I’ve inherited a pretty boring dining table, it belonged to my Grandmother so I don’t want to get rid of it but how can I make it a bit more interesting? |

You could try creating a really eclectic scheme by using different styles of dining chairs around the table. Mix and match modern brightly coloured ones with rustic country-style ones and you could even throw in a couple of retro designs. It will instantly give your table a new lease of life. |

I had the same problem, I was given a beautiful, ornate table that just fit in with my fairly modern dining room so I painted in matt black. It might sound extreme but it looks grate and everyone always asks me where I got it from. They don’t believe me when I tell them it was my handiwork! |

You could try painting the legs and the top in different colours, I saw this done once in Living Etc I think and the effect was really stunning. The homeowners has then teamed Eames DWR chairs in the same colour as the legs to pull the look together. |
