Embarking on a career change and looking at taking a distance learning course in interior design. Just wondered if anyone had any insight into the relative merits of these courses – I’m keen to get a good grounding in commercial, as well as domestic, design. |

Hi there, How exciting that you’re about to embark on a new career – congratulations. There are loads of courses about and I have heard really good things about the KLC one. Inchbald is another design school that has a very good reputation. I went to their graduate show a year or so ago and the standard was amazing, A lot of their graduates go onto design for hotels, restaurants etc. What ever course you go for, I would hugely recommend trying to get work experience with an interior designer as what you learn “in the field” will be invaluable and only supplement your academic experience. Good luck! |

National Design Academy – great from a home study point of view but not that great a course. If you want more info then email me at admin@diamondideas.co.uk |
