When recovering a lampshade with silk fabric, does the fabric need to be fire retardant? Is there a special type of fabric to be used with a lampshade or can any material and type be used? |

To be on the safe side, I would definitely use a fire retardant fabric. Your local fabric store or a department store with a good haberdashery department, such as John Lewis will be able to tell you what your options are. Good luck and don’t forget to post a picture when you’re done. |
