A product of our close relationship with the environment around us, the elegant yet powerful antler is one such motif - depicted in imagery across culture, heraldic emblems and used in its physical form extensively from the 19th Century onwards. Taking the strong silhouette of the antler and juxtaposing it with the comfort of a snug cushion, the Portland designer responsible for this piece hand embroiders each cover individually giving a real sense of craftsmanship to a household item which is all too often a neglected afterthought. Embroidered onto textured off-white linen using 100% cotton floss, the antler cushion bring a wild flourish to the home in a manner which exudes the care and attention that has gone into their creation.
