Elm Money Trunk
Made during the 1900s, this wonderful Chinese Elm Money Trunk was originally from Beijing. These types of chests were once used to store money along with jewellery and other valuables.
The entire interior can be accessed through the doors at the front. There's also a removable post to make way for much larger items. Also, the top lid would have also revealed a compartment. These were often locked up to ensure safety of the contents.
It is crafted from solid elm that has been stripped off its existing lacquer to help reveal the beauty of the wood underneath. It's perfect for country style homes and even classic interiors.
