Red Lacquer Book Cabinet
This lovely Red Lacquer Book Cabinet has had a long history. It's been around since the 1880s when it was first made in the Shanxi province of China. Originally, cabinets like these would sit on top of larger armoires.
For modern use, these would serve as great book cabinets. This particular piece is made from pine and carries its old red finish. It has brass door handles and intricate detailing at the bottom of the doors.
The designs include swastikas which are used to symbolise good fortune.
