Steuart Padwick
(Since training as a designer and cabinetmaker, Steuart has made furniture and other products for one off commissions as well as mass production. He is the founder of Designbar.com an information and advisory website for the design industry.
Beginning as a designer maker, Steuart went on to develop products for mass production, and in the late 90s as a buyer for The Conran Shop sourced products from USA and Europe to India, China and Australia.
Over the years, Steuart launched a number of successful companies and most recently managed the launch of Benchmark Furniture for Sir Terence Conran and Sean Sutcliffe.
Steuart's aim is to design products and furniture that can be used in our daily lives, where the pleasure is gained both from the appearance and use of the object.
